Commodity Manager - Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commodity Manager to join Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Madrid. This role is crucial for orchestrating and executing end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned product categories or service groups.

Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions, mitigate supply chain risks, ensure uncompromising quality standards, and foster high-value strategic partnerships that align with the organization's long-term business goals.

RESPONSABILITIES

• Strategic Sourcing Roadmap: Develop and implement comprehensive, long-term category strategies that align with corporate financial and operational objectives.
• Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Identify, vet, and onboard best-in-class suppliers. Drive continuous improvement through rigorous Supplier Performance Management (SPM) and regular business reviews.
• Cost Optimization & Negotiation: Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations regarding pricing, contractual terms, and service level agreements (SLAs) to deliver measurable cost savings and value creation.
• Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive market analysis to anticipate price volatility, commodity trends, and macroeconomic shifts that could impact the supply base.
• Risk Mitigation & Resilience: Proactively identify potential supply chain disruptions and implement robust contingency plans to ensure business continuity and supply security.
• Multi Functional Team Leadership: Act as a strategic partner to Engineering, Quality, Finance, Programs and Operations to ensure the business needs are fulfilled and integrated into the sourcing strategy.

SKILLS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven track record in strategic category management, global sourcing, and complex contract negotiation.
• Analytical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in data-driven decision-making, and advanced analytical tools.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
