About the Programme
The Civil and Structural Engineering Graduate Programme offers a unique opportunity to shape the world around us by designing, building, and maintaining essential infrastructure. Working within our Cavendish Nuclear business, you will apply core engineering principles to projects that significantly impact the UK's defence and energy sectors.
As a graduate, you will contribute to high-profile infrastructure projects in naval and nuclear operations. This could involve supporting the development of new nuclear power stations, modernising dockyards, or maintaining critical facilities. Programme Structure
This is an intensive two-year programme designed to provide comprehensive experience in civil and structural engineering through a series of rotational placements. You will engage with various teams and projects, deepening your understanding of structural assessments, design documentation, compliance, and operational site support. These rotations offer invaluable opportunities to expand your professional network and gain insight into the business's operations.
Each placement is an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, take on significant responsibilities, and identify areas of civil and structural engineering that align with your interests.

Our Graduate Development Programme includes expert-led masterclasses focusing on essential professional skills such as communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing. We provide comprehensive guidance and cover all associated fees to support your journey towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will transition into a permanent role within our Engineering Function. You will have continuous opportunities to apply and enhance your skills, working towards professional registration. This recognised benchmark of engineering competence will pave the way for advancement into more senior roles, such as Senior Engineer.

Application Requirements
Candidates must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a BEng or MEng in Civil and Coastal Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related degree with a Civil or Structural focus. Degrees in Materials Science and Metallurgy are also accepted.
This programme requires candidates to be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance. Eligibility may be impacted by place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency.
Location
This programme is based within our Cavendish Nuclear business in Bristol or Warrington. While core placements are in these locations, opportunities may arise at other sites depending on project needs. Agile working is available, but expect several days per week on-site. Post-programme, you will continue in the same location.
Working with Cavendish Nuclear means contributing to vital UK engineering projects, including legacy nuclear site decommissioning, modern nuclear power plant development, and national defence initiatives.
