The Role

As a Business Support Specialist, you’ll play a key role within our Major Nuclear Capital Programmes business, supporting senior leaders and helping to coordinate governance activities across complex, high-profile infrastructure programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a growing business that delivers projects critical to the UK's nuclear enterprise and national security.

Day-to-day, you’ll provide professional business and executive support, ensuring that governance processes run smoothly, information is accurate and timely, and senior stakeholders have the support they need to make informed decisions. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll gain valuable exposure to senior leadership while developing your organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Coordinating governance meetings, annual calendars, agendas and stakeholder attendance to support effective planning and delivery.
  • Preparing high-quality governance packs, reports, presentations and briefing materials for senior leaders and committees.
  • Recording actions and decisions, maintaining trackers and monitoring progress to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Providing executive support through diary management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements and priority management.
  • Maintaining accurate governance records while supporting leadership events, workshops and continuous improvement activities.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Experience

  • Experience supporting senior leaders and executives within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex meetings and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience producing professional reports, meeting packs, presentations and accurate meeting minutes.
  • Strong organisational skills, written communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of governance, compliance, programme or project environments, along with Teams, SharePoint or Power BI, would be advantageous.

Qualifications

The following would be advantageous:

  • Business administration, governance, project support or related professional qualifications.
  • Relevant training in Microsoft Office, project coordination or governance disciplines.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
