As a Vehicle Engineer, you will play a vital role in the safe, effective, and rigorous assessment of military vehicles and systems, empowering our customers to make informed decisions about the equipment used by the UK Armed Forces.
Your Responsibilities:
- Plan, conduct, and support vehicle trials and assessments, ensuring safe delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Install and operate instrumentation systems to capture accurate vehicle performance, mobility, noise, vibration, and shock data.
- Analyze and interpret trial data using tools such as MATLAB, producing clear technical reports and recommendations.
- Collaborate with customers, military personnel, and internal stakeholders to deliver effective test and evaluation programs.
- Contribute to technical proposals, bid writing, and cost estimation for future business opportunities.
- Support the operation and maintenance of the Hurn Proving Ground, ensuring facilities, equipment, and test areas are safe and operational.
What You'll Need:
Essential experience includes instrumentation, data acquisition, and measurement techniques, with experience capturing and validating test data. You should have knowledge of data analysis methodologies and experience using analytical software tools like MATLAB or similar platforms. Strong technical reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills are crucial, along with the ability to communicate complex information clearly. A demonstrable commitment to safety and the ability to work in a hands-on, field-based environment are also essential.
Essential qualifications include a Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a relevant Science or Engineering discipline, along with a Full UK Driving Licence.

About the Role:
This role is based at our Farnborough and Hurn Proving Ground sites, working 37 hours per week, with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
Many roles at QinetiQ are subject to national security vetting. Applicants who already hold the appropriate level of vetting may be able to transfer it. Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
