About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager Construction, you will play an out-of-the-ordinary role, supporting the successful delivery of construction, infrastructure, and engineering projects. Your focus will be on ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders, gaining valuable experience to accelerate your professional growth and open future career opportunities within a leading UK engineering organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating contractors and site activities, including inspections, permits, and work within live operational environments.
- Supporting project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking across multiple construction activities.
- Monitoring project costs, budgets, contractor payments, and key project documentation.
- Assisting with health and safety activities, including toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, and CDM compliance.
- Managing project reporting, risk and change registers, while supporting stakeholder engagement and issue resolution.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based on site at Rosyth.
Essential Experience
- Experience supporting the delivery of construction, infrastructure, or facilities projects.
- Experience working in site-based environments and coordinating contractor activities.
- Understanding of project management principles, including planning, cost control, reporting, and risk management.
- Working knowledge of health and safety requirements, including CDM 2015 or similar regulated frameworks.
- Background in an engineering, construction, or related technical discipline.
Qualifications
- HNC or HND in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- A Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related subject is desirable.
- Working towards an Association for Project Management or equivalent project management qualification is desirable.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety certification is desirable.
- Relevant industry experience in construction or infrastructure projects is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
