Assistant Project Manager Production

The Role

As an Assistant Project Manager Production, you will be embedded within one of our Mission Technologies production programmes, supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. This is a highly visible role where your coordination, organisation, and problem-solving skills will directly influence project outcomes crucial for national security and customer success.

You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and commercial teams, gaining hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle while building strong stakeholder relationships. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Supporting planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management activities across production programmes.
  • Coordinating work packages and monitoring progress to ensure delivery against agreed plans.
  • Working collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams to drive momentum.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to communicate progress, issues, and mitigation actions.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance delivery performance.

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and offers hybrid working arrangements with 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working within a project management or delivery environment.
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle from planning through to delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, schedules, and changing priorities.
  • Confidence working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (PFQ and/or PMQ desirable).

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Candidates must be Sole UK Nationals.
