About the Role

As an Armourer at Babcock, based in Donnington, near Telford, Shropshire, you will play a crucial role in maintaining weapon systems and associated equipment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational readiness. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week on a 9-day fortnight, offering you every other Friday off.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of small arms weapon systems and associated equipment.
  • Manufacture miscellaneous components and items to support operational requirements.
  • Perform examination and assessment tasks in line with production demands and training needs.
  • Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and compliance in all engineering activities.
  • Support the achievement of production targets and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience gained through weapon equipment courses or demonstrable familiarity with weapon systems and associated equipment.
  • Understanding of engineering, maintenance, inspection, or mechanical repair activities.
  • Proven experience working in a quality-driven and safety-focused environment.
  • Ability to accurately follow technical procedures and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification (e.g., RQF/NVQ) in an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering discipline.
  • A valid UK driving licence.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
