About the Role
As an Armourer at Babcock, based in Donnington, near Telford, Shropshire, you will play a crucial role in maintaining weapon systems and associated equipment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational readiness. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week on a 9-day fortnight, offering you every other Friday off.
What You'll Do
- Conduct inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of small arms weapon systems and associated equipment.
- Manufacture miscellaneous components and items to support operational requirements.
- Perform examination and assessment tasks in line with production demands and training needs.
- Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and compliance in all engineering activities.
- Support the achievement of production targets and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Experience gained through weapon equipment courses or demonstrable familiarity with weapon systems and associated equipment.
- Understanding of engineering, maintenance, inspection, or mechanical repair activities.
- Proven experience working in a quality-driven and safety-focused environment.
- Ability to accurately follow technical procedures and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Qualifications
- A minimum of Level 3 qualification (e.g., RQF/NVQ) in an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering discipline.
- A valid UK driving licence.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
