Architectural Technology Graduate Programme
This is an exciting two-year programme designed to build on your understanding of building design and construction, applying it within the UK’s defence and energy sectors. You will join our Cavendish Nuclear business, working on major naval and nuclear programmes that support critical national infrastructure. This could involve supporting the development of next-generation nuclear power stations, modernising dockyards for the naval fleet, or maintaining critical facilities.
With support from experienced colleagues, you will contribute to the design, construction, and management of buildings and infrastructure, ensuring they are robust and fit for purpose. You will build your technical capability, learn how industry standards are applied, and develop a strong understanding of how major projects are delivered.
Programme Structure
The programme consists of a series of placements designed to provide broad experience across Architectural Technology and Engineering. You will rotate through different teams and projects, developing your knowledge of design delivery, design documentation, compliance processes, and operational site support. These rotations offer opportunities to broaden your experience, potentially in different locations, helping you build your professional network and deepen your understanding of business operations.
Development and Support
From day one, you will receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship. You will join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses. We offer full guidance and cover associated fees to support your journey toward Chartered status.
Post-Programme Opportunities
Upon successful completion, you will move into a permanent role within our Engineering Function, continuing to apply and expand your skills. You will have the opportunity to build on your progress toward professional registration, supporting your journey into advanced roles. Requirements
You will need to have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a degree in Architectural Technology or a related subject with relevant Architecture and Building Design content.
Many of our programmes are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions. For this programme, you must be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance.
Location
Places on this programme are available within our Cavendish Nuclear business, based in Warrington. Opportunities to spend time at other locations may arise depending on placement needs. Agile working is offered, providing some flexibility, but several days each week will be spent on-site. Upon successful completion, you will continue your career in the same location.
