The Opportunity

As Tool Design Team Lead, you will be responsible for a high performing group of up to six engineers, both delivering and managing complex tooling design solutions across a wide range of projects. This is a key leadership role in a dynamic environment where your technical expertise and ability to lead a team will help shape continued success.

You will guide the team at the heart of a rapidly evolving and high demand sector, where smart, adaptable solutions are the key to success. This role requires both you, and your team to deliver design solutions balancing technical leadership with project management. Using lateral thinking to explore new approaches, the team will deliver high quality solutions both on time and in budget. You will help forge cross-functional bonds and ensure all members of the team are empowered to deliver practical and innovative solutions that keep pace with growing demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and continue to develop a team of high performing mechanical engineers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
  • Manage project timelines, priorities and resource allocation, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Identify and remove blockers and foster team collaboration
  • Provide regular feedback, career development support and team engagement activities.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Ideally Degree/HND/HNC qualified plus significant experience in Mechanical Design and Development
  • Must have a good amount of 3D modelling experience and be able to assess 3D models for their quality.
  • Experience in 3D annotations
