Technical Author Opportunity at MBDA
An exciting opportunity has arisen within MBDA's transforming Technical Publications department. This role is central to the analysis, development, and delivery of essential Technical Publications for MBDA's complex portfolio of products, specifically focusing on the Land Ceptor and Sea Ceptor product lines.
You will be at the forefront of engineering documentation, working closely with a variety of enthusiastic, multi-disciplined internal and international teams, including industry and government groups. This is a chance to contribute to cutting-edge defence technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Authoring specialists to support and develop complex engineering descriptive and procedural documentation.
- Provide technical expertise, ensuring design teams have a clear understanding of the publication development, production, and upkeep process.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential experience in technical authoring.
- Proficiency in SGML is required, with the ability to adapt to other authorship formats being desirable.
- Familiarity with S1000D based authoring tools is crucial.
- Awareness of BREX (Business Rules Exchange) use and Guidance Documents.
- Experience with a CSDB (Common Source Data Base) environment and associated reports.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, maintaining a willing, helpful attitude and a calm, professional manner.
What We Can Offer You:
- Salary: Between £40,000 and £46,000, dependent on experience.
- Dynamic (Hybrid) Working: Blended approach to on-site and remote working (e.g., 2-3 days in office per week) where possible.
- Security Clearance: Requires HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks after offer stage. Candidates must be a British Citizen or Dual UK national.
