About the Role

Are you passionate about complex defence systems, cutting-edge technology, and international collaboration? MBDA España is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Technical Team in Madrid. This role is pivotal in supporting the definition, development, and integration of current and next-generation Air Defence Weapon Systems.

In this position, you will be at the forefront of system design and integration, contributing to the delivery of advanced defence capabilities that meet national operational requirements while leveraging state-of-the-art technology. You will collaborate closely with customers, international partners, and subcontractors, building strong technical relationships and helping shape innovative system solutions within a truly multinational environment.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the definition, development, and integration of advanced Air Defence weapon systems.
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and modern product development tools.
  • Lead or support system studies, trade-off analyses, and technical assessments.
  • Participate in system certification activities and design verification.
  • Develop and manage interface control documentation (ICDs).
  • Support environmental engineering activities from requirements capture through proving and certification.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and international stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in systems engineering, sub-systems, and test and integration programs, including processes and lifecycle. Weapon system knowledge is desirable.
  • Experience in areas such as Aircraft Integration, Naval Integration, Ground/Land Integration, Interface Design, System Assessment & Acceptance, and Design Verification.
  • Demonstrated ability in day-to-day problem-solving for relevant defence projects, including specification and design, systems performance analysis, systems architecture, concept studies, and systems validation.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and co-operation with internal and external partners.
  • Assertiveness to continually seek opportunities for improvements.
  • Qualified in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Industrial/Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent Master’s Degree with expertise in mechanical design.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance: Must be a Spanish Citizen or dual national.
  • Language: Fluent Spanish and English (C1 Level) required.
  • Travel: Spain and European Travel may be required.
