Role Overview

As the System of Systems Design Definition Group Lead, your primary objective is to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in support of the integration (physical and functional) of an MBDA land product into a wider Ground Based Air Defence Weapon System context. You will demonstrate your understanding of integrating complex systems into a larger system context through proven experience in functional design and integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MBDA support to the customer and industry partners in the generation of system-level requirements and verification plans.
  • Conduct system of systems related design studies and generate interface definitions.
  • Manage and deliver System of Systems task packages on time, on cost, and on quality, including progress and budgetary reporting.
  • Manage the System of Systems team, comprising engineers based across Europe and the United States.
  • Engage technically with the customer and industry partners, managing technical points of contact and regular working groups.
  • This role involves travel overseas (expected once per month) to support engagement with the customer and industry partners.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in developing and integrating complex systems, preferably in the defence industry.
  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to initiate and drive trade studies.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to a variety of stakeholders (internally and externally).
  • Experience developing requirement sets.
