About the Role

An opportunity for a Structural Dynamics and Aeroelasticity Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, located in Getafe (Madrid). We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team, focusing on analyzing and ensuring the structural integrity of our aerospace products under dynamic and aeroelastic conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed aeroelastic and structural dynamics analyses for various aircraft and spacecraft components.
  • Develop and validate numerical models for predicting flutter, divergence, and other aeroelastic phenomena.
  • Conduct loads analysis to determine critical design conditions for structural components.
  • Utilize simulation software (e.g., Nastran/Patran, Matlab/Simulink) for advanced dynamic and aeroelastic investigations.
  • Implement and develop scripts in Python for automation of analysis processes and post-processing of results.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing analysis results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including design, stress, and testing engineers.
  • Participate in the interpretation of ground/flight test data related to structural dynamics and aeroelasticity.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of analyses, methodologies, and findings.
  • Present findings and communicate technical information effectively in English to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage project-related documentation and communications using the Microsoft Office suite.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in Aeroelasticity and Structural Dynamics analysis.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Loads analysis methodologies, Nastran/Patran for finite element analysis, Matlab/Simulink for data analysis, modeling, and simulation, Python for scripting and automation, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Languages: Advanced level in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
