About the Role
As a Stores Operative at RSME, near Chatham, Kent, you will play a key role in supporting training operations by ensuring equipment, stores, and supplies are available when needed. This is a varied, hands-on position that combines stock control and customer service responsibilities with deliveries across the estate. You'll be part of a supportive team, helping to maintain smooth operations while developing valuable logistics, inventory, and warehousing experience.
What You'll Do
- Issue stores items and equipment to customers and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain inventory levels, complete stock checks, and support audits.
- Update paperwork and computer systems relating to stores accounts and inventory management.
- Deliver equipment and supplies across the estate using company vehicles.
- Move equipment and furniture while ensuring stores areas remain clean, organised, and ready for use.
About You
Essential experience includes using Microsoft Office applications, the ability to work in a physically active role involving manual handling, and strong communication skills (written and verbal). A full UK Driving Licence is also required.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. The successful candidate will also be required to drive.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, site-based role at RSME, Chatham. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
