About the Role
The Avionics Software department at Airbus India is responsible for the conception, development, production, and support of critical systems on Airbus aircraft. This role is within the Quality Function, interacting with the Systems department, and focuses on ensuring the highest standards of avionics software development and certification.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality controls, including technical sampling of avionics software deliverables, in compliance with DO-178B/ED-12 objectives.
- Provide technical support to Avionics Software teams regarding processes, methods, and tools.
- Support the EASA certification of Avionics Software.
- Drive continuous improvements on development processes.
Main Activities
- Ensure the efficiency and adequacy of development methods, particularly to meet certification objectives.
- Support development teams in the use of methods and tools.
- Propose process improvements.
- Verify the consistency, completeness, and accuracy of software quality documents.
- Maintain and update the Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC).
- Ensure conformity of the Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQAP), including the list of applicable rules for software projects.
- Perform internal reviews to prepare for external reviews by EASA.
- Verify the correct application of methods and rules through quality control of documents, source code, test files, and other lifecycle data, in compliance with the SQAP.
- Approve software documents in compliance with applicable plans and certification rules.
- Perform root cause analysis for software anomalies to improve development methods.
- Ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of certification records.
- Approve project documents in compliance with applicable plans.
- Verify the configuration management of product lifecycle data.
Collaboration
The Software Methods and Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager, Software Manager, Development team, Certification Authorities, Methods Specialists, and Software Method and Quality Managers from Airbus, France.
Required Experience
- Embedded Software Development: Software specification, architecture design, coding, testing, and integration.
- Experience in development and verification of critical real-time embedded software.
- Experience in applying DO-178 on a project.
