Software Testing Engineer - Environment Simulators
An exciting opportunity exists for a Software Testing Engineer to join the Environment Simulators team, working alongside our simulation developers. This role is based in our Stevenage office.
MBDA's Simulation Software department is at the forefront of developing simulations for Weapon System and sub-systems teams, utilizing the full development life cycle and agile methodologies. Our simulations adhere to best practices and capabilities, ensuring our products are rigorously tested, fit-for-purpose, and ready for delivery. As a Software Testing Engineer, you will be a Quality Advocate, ensuring our simulations are mission-ready, going beyond just bug finding.
Reporting to the Group and Project Leads, you will be responsible for the end-to-end software testing and proving lifecycle for our simulation software releases and software defects. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, conduct, and reporting:
Planning
- Understanding customer needs and requirements from a proving perspective.
- Understanding design and architecture, including defining software test bed requirements.
- Developing comprehensive software test plans, writing, and running test sets, designs, and specifications.
Conduct
- Performing regular progressive software testing assurance during software development cycles.
- Leading the testing of software defects.
- Liaising with our Support team to provide logs/data analysis when issues are identified.
- Demonstrating compliance to requirements.
- Executing formal software qualification testing.
Reporting
- Providing regular updates to project leads and stakeholders on software functionality.
- Writing detailed software test and analysis reports for certification purposes.
- Supporting the software delivery and release process.
