Our P8 Training Services, based at RAF Lossiemouth, delivers state-of-the-art synthetic training for the P8 Poseidon aircraft. As a Training Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity of this vital training by performing proactive maintenance and management of the training devices and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the repair, testing, installation, configuration, upgrading, and modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware, and software.
- Perform general inspections (pre-operation, post-operation) and component handling of training devices, assemblies, and components.
- Conduct functional tests of training device systems and monitor device instrumentation and bench-mounted indicators.
- Troubleshoot systems and support equipment to isolate faults and repair faulty components.
- Work effectively under limited supervision.
- Develop and enhance existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement within the P8 Device Maintenance Department.
- Perform additional duties as tasked by the Shift Lead or Engineering Manager to support the maintenance team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Excellent organization and computing skills.
- Good level of experience with electronic/electrical systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with flight simulators and training equipment.
- Time-served indentured apprenticeship in a relevant field (Simulator/Avionics/Electronics/Engineering).
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electronics/Avionics.
- Knowledge of computer networking.
- Experience with qualification test guide running and grading (QTGs).
- Knowledge of the Military Air Environment and associated governance.
- HNC or higher qualification in Electronics/Avionics/Aircraft Engineering.
Position Details:
- This position is based onsite at RAF Lossiemouth.
- The role operates on a full-time shift pattern.
