About the Role
Join BAE Systems as a SHE Manager in Govan, where you will lead and support a diverse team of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) specialists. You will provide clear, practical, and expert guidance across the business, working closely with senior leaders and managers to ensure effective management of SHE matters and the achievement of strategic goals.
This role involves shaping and implementing our SHE strategy, maintaining essential licences, consents, and permits, and fostering a positive, collaborative culture that contributes to a safer, healthier, and more sustainable workplace.
Core Duties
- Lead and develop SHE professionals, fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team.
- Provide specialist SHE guidance to the business, ensuring leaders receive clear, expert technical advice.
- Champion change by assisting teams in adopting new SHE processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to influence alignment with SHE standards and expectations.
- Maintain regulatory compliance through effective oversight of licences, consents, and permits.
The SHE Team
You will lead the business's specialist SHE team, which encompasses Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, Occupational Hygiene, Wellbeing, Construction Safety, and Engineering Safety. Your team will influence and coach colleagues to integrate specialist SHE risks into decision-making processes and develop effective strategic and operational solutions.
