The Opportunity

This is a mission-driven role for a Senior UX Designer responsible for creating high-quality design artefacts to support a prioritized roadmap of features. You will contribute to the development of software applications within an Agile environment, designed to protect national security by enabling informed decision-making through data collection and analysis. Reporting to the Lead UX Designer, you will be pivotal in leading small teams to achieve quality outcomes on exciting and important projects, placing you at the forefront of UX design.

Our UK Cyber & Intelligence business merges modern software development practices with extensive experience in the Defence and security sectors. We support clients with complex and sensitive data requirements, acting as a mission partner to deliver challenging technology projects at scale and pace, assisting them through a significant digital transformation.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Confidently explain and present design decisions to diverse audiences.
  • Create lean process artefacts, including wireframes, prototypes, customer journey maps, and support testing and research.
  • Lead feature development, ensuring consistency and alignment with design objectives.
  • Lead small teams, taking accountability for the quality of deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops to foster collaboration among project team members.
  • Liaise with Product Owners, project stakeholders, and key role holders to achieve desired user experiences.

We are looking for:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing design thinking, research, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in managing designers and project work.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting ideas and providing constructive feedback to project teams and other UX designers.
  • A solid understanding of UX practices within software development.
  • Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles, or a strong desire to learn.
