About the Role
As a Senior Systems Specialist, you will provide expert-level support and leadership in the management of QinetiQ’s SAP SuccessFactors platform. Operating within Enterprise Digital Services, the role is accountable for ensuring the system is secure, resilient, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead on system design, integration, and service improvement initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across geographies to deliver high-quality outcomes. By combining deep technical expertise with strategic insight and mentoring capabilities, the role drives operational excellence, enhances user experience, and contributes to the continuous evolution of corporate IT services.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Provide technical leadership and Subject Matter Expertise across SAP SuccessFactors and enterprise systems, shaping system strategy, supporting the HR technology roadmap, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage SuccessFactors system configuration, security, governance, and compliance, including role-based access controls, change management, audit readiness, data protection, and adherence to organisational policies and best practices.
- Lead system support, incident resolution, and service delivery, acting as an escalation point for complex issues, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring system availability, performance, and service excellence.
- Oversee integrations, data management, and system lifecycle activities, including data migration, validation, reconciliation, platform upgrades, releases, enhancements, and continuous optimisation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and third-party partners to define requirements, implement solutions, manage platform roadmaps, support projects, and identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement, documentation, testing, and knowledge sharing, maintaining high-quality system documentation, leading testing activities, providing user training and mentoring, and enhancing operational efficiency and user experience.
Essential Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of SuccessFactors and the wider SAP product and systems landscape supporting multiple modules.
- Strong experience configuring, supporting, integrating, and optimising SuccessFactors modules.
- Strategic technical leadership with a proven ability to shape system roadmaps, lead design and enhancement initiatives, and align technology solutions with business objectives across complex, multi-site organisations.
- Strong governance, security, and service management knowledge, including access controls, compliance, audit requirements, incident, change, and problem management, and adherence to regulatory standards such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
- Excellent stakeholder, vendor, and communication skills, able to influence senior leaders, collaborate across technical and business teams, manage third-party providers, and translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
- Results-driven and continuous improvement focused, with strong analytical, documentation, mentoring, and problem-solving capabilities, driving system performance, user adoption, operational efficiency, and team development.
Essential Qualifications:
- A technical degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Maths) or equivalent professional experience.
Work Environment & Benefits:
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Shift patterns are between 07:30-18:30 GMT, and you may be asked to work at specific times. Participation in an on-call rota may be required to ensure high service availability and rapid incident response.
