About the Role

As a Senior Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineer based in Ashton Vale, Bristol, you will be instrumental in supporting a groundbreaking Land Cyber and Electro Magnetic Activities programme. Your work will ensure the UK Armed Forces remain at the forefront of technological capability, contributing directly to national security through the design, performance, and availability of complex defence systems.

Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reliability analysis, including functional Failure Analysis, physical Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and root cause analysis to identify and mitigate potential failures.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive R&M technical documentation, including R&M case reports.
- Develop and implement maintainability plans to ensure systems are designed for ease of maintenance and support.
- Analyze maintenance and operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement as part of our overall DRACAS (Data Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System).
- Provide technical support and guidance to design and engineering teams to enhance system reliability and maintainability.
- Work with Systems Engineering to develop test plans, conduct reliability testing, and validate system performance against requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Safety, Systems Engineering, IPS (Integrated Product Support), service delivery, and Project Management, to ensure R&M requirements are delivered.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in R&M.
- Provide ad hoc support to the IPS Manager and/or Engineering Manager, acting as the IPS Manager's deputy, representing the IPS function internally and externally.
- Offer R&M guidance and reviews to peers and subordinates.
Working Arrangements
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, offering hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working throughout the engineering lifecycle to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards for the customer.
- A good understanding of cross-domain and cross-boundary requirements development and interface control.
- Experience in determining and managing stakeholder requirements, life cycle tailoring, verification, validation, and transition to operation.
- Understanding of accreditation processes for COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) and bespoke software.
Qualifications
- Engineering HNC/HND or equivalent relevant experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Applicants must be Sole UK Nationals.
