Role Description

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide essential technical programme support across Manufacturing Engineering and Operations. Your responsibilities will include preparing Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), Process Instructions, and Conditions of Supply. You will also identify tooling requirements and collaborate with impacted Manufacturing Engineering and Operations areas to ensure manufacturing engineering outputs are clear and readily understandable. Furthermore, you will support Manufacturing Operations in the effective discharge of programme workload.

Core Duties

• Preparation of MBOMs, Process Instructions, Conditions of Supply definition and identification of tooling requirements.
• Liaison with impacted Manufacturing Engineering and Operations areas to ensure that ME outputs are clear and understandable.
• Support to Manufacturing Operations in the discharge of programme workload.
• Supervision of junior team members including approval of their work as necessary.

Essential Skills

• HNC/HND, Degree or apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aeronautical Engineering).
• Mechanical Process Planning background.
• Strong collaborative and team working skills.
• Demonstrated responsibility for own development and that of direct reports.
• Preparedness to apply for enhanced security clearances.

The FCAS Technology Programme Manufacturing Engineering Team

You will join a Manufacturing Engineering team of approximately six individuals supporting the FCAS UK Technology Programme, operating as part of the wider FCAS Manufacturing Engineering team. This programme is focused on investigating new and novel air vehicle technologies for the next generation of combat aircraft. You will have the opportunity to contribute to sixth-generation capability and influence the UK’s next-generation fighter. Close collaboration with Air Vehicle Engineering teams, the broader FCAS Manufacturing Engineering community, and Manufacturing Operations will be key, providing Manufacturing Engineering support to programme delivery. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your manufacturing expertise within a forward-looking technology programme.
