Role Overview:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and governing capable methods of manufacture, assembly, and installation for Naval Ships. These methods will be designed to meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery throughout the product lifecycle, including influencing design intent and Design for Manufacture.

Core Duties:

• Significantly influence, collaborate, and coordinate Manufacturing Engineering activities, contributing to the future of Shipbuilding on the Clyde and within customer and partner facilities.
• Lead, develop, and motivate assigned team members through open and honest communication.
• Create, define, and approve facilities, equipment, tooling, processes, manufacturing instructions, and policies, confirming team member work where appropriate.
• Understand and influence product design to define optimized products that meet operational capabilities.
• Create and support benefit cases for funded improvements and manage facility investment projects from concept to commissioning.
• Observe, collate, and document data, utilizing analysis tools to trend performance and make recommendations.
• Agree, prioritize, schedule, and plan activities to meet Project / Programme Requirements.

Essential Skills:

• Previous experience in Manufacturing / Process / Method Planning, NC Programming, Tool Definition, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Systems Implementations, or Facility Investment activities.
• Ability to understand and interpret requirements, specifications, and engineering models.
• Proficiency in analyzing problems to identify root causes using recognized techniques, with conceptual and methodical thinking to define processes and procedures.
• Understanding of cost, quality, and schedule drivers and their interactions.
• Project and task management skills in coordinating and delivering successful activities.

The ME3 Team:

In this role, you will have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects. You will leverage your knowledge and experience to ensure the delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into our customer's Manufacturing Operations Function, guaranteeing that design intent is met. The role holder will advise, coach, and influence other team members within Manufacturing Engineering and collaborating functions such as Engineering Quality and Supply Chain.
