About the Role
Join our Data Fabric Services team within the Information Systems department as a Senior Data Engineer. You will be instrumental in designing enterprise-wide data and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, integrating data from a variety of sources including business data, simulators, missile test systems, and shop-floor machines. Your work will transform this data into a governed, value-generating asset, impacting across all directorates: Engineering, Simulation, Test, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, MRO, and Corporate Functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture needs and deliver end-to-end data solutions across technical and business domains.
- Build scalable ETL/ELT and streaming pipelines from simulators, HIL/SIL benches, MES/SCADA, ERP, and PLM.
- Architect data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, and time-series stores.
- Develop Power BI analytics for self-service, KPI monitoring, and executive reporting.
- Define data models, governance, quality, lineage, and security aligned with defence requirements (ITAR/EAR, cybersecurity).
- Drive DataOps: CI/CD, monitoring, Container as a Service (CaaS) integration model on hybrid/on-prem environments.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in data engineering, ideally in aerospace/defence or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Airflow, Azure, Microsoft SSIS) and streaming technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
- Strong Python and SQL skills; C++, C#, or MATLAB are a plus.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Iceberg, and TimescaleDB.
- Familiarity with Data Platform Capabilities including Low-Code No-Code Data Science solutions (Dataiku, Knime), Data Virtualisation (Dataiku, Ab Initio, Starburst), and Data Visualisation (Power BI, DAX, Tableau).
- Understanding of T/OT integration and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- DevOps/DataOps experience with tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
- Awareness of DO-178C, ISO 27001, and MOD guidelines is appreciated.
