The Role: Senior Applications Analyst
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing digital and technology team at Babcock, a global defence, aerospace, and engineering organisation. As a Senior Applications Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our critical business applications remain secure, reliable, and high-performing. You will support colleagues across the organisation, enabling the delivery of projects vital to national security, public infrastructure, and essential services. This role is based at various UK locations including London, Portsmouth, Warrington, Bristol, Devonport, Leicester, or Rosyth, with flexible and hybrid working arrangements offered.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will take a leading role in managing and supporting Babcock's enterprise application portfolio throughout its operational lifecycle. You will provide technical expertise, solve complex challenges, and drive continuous improvement across critical business systems within our IT and Digital function.
- Manage and support enterprise applications across their operational lifecycle.
- Provide technical and functional support to resolve complex application issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external vendors to maintain high service standards.
- Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and best practice across the Applications Support team.
- Support and provide technical guidance to colleagues while contributing to application enhancement initiatives.

Essential Experience
- Experienced in managing and delivering technical and functional support for enterprise-level applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server in high-availability environments.
- Demonstrable success in troubleshooting complex issues and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Strong technical experience in software maintenance, application support, installation, and infrastructure or server administration.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, planning, and prioritisation skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, functions, business units, and geographical locations.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Professional certifications in information technology, application management, or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of mobile technologies and support.
- Experience supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), IT Service Management (ITSM), or Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
- Experience integrating on-premise and cloud-based solutions.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Eligibility may be affected by nationality, place of birth, citizenship, and residency status.
