Security Advisor – Rotary Wing Enterprise

About the Role

Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is seeking a Security Adviser with recent practical experience in high-tempo environments to join its growing security team. This role, based at the Army Aviation Centre Middle Wallop or Wattisham Flying Station, is crucial for supporting the UK Rotary Wing Enterprise (RWE).

As part of Boeing’s Global Security Activity, the BDUK Security team offers a full spectrum of Government and Corporate security support, alongside risk management advice. The successful candidate will deliver a programme required statement of work, provide direct programme security support, and offer advice to the wider BDUK business and its functions across all security domains, including cyber and information security.

Reporting to the BDUK Security Operations Manager, you will also collaborate with Global Security colleagues to ensure consistent application of Boeing Enterprise security standards across Europe, Russia/CIS, and the Americas, providing international surge support during crisis scenarios.

Strong collaboration skills and knowledge of the cyber domain are essential, as BDUK Security Advisers work closely with information security counterparts to achieve integrated security outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply risk-managed security solutions within a UK Government organisation and a large corporate structure.
• Maintain a practical understanding of UK Government industrial security requirements and HMG Security Policy Framework & JSP 440.
• Implement UK Government industrial security, contract security procedures, and defence supply chain security activities.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations, including loss or compromise reports, and investigate security breaches.
• Conduct periodic reviews and compliance audits of UK Government/MOD-accredited facilities.
• Draft security risk reports and management plans for programme-based activities.
• Manage tactical security requirements for assigned facilities in conjunction with the Facilities team and contracted services.
• Identify, analyse, and disseminate threat-based information, and prepare employees for deployment to high-threat locations.
• Task and supervise security suppliers, including executive protection, security systems, and technical security countermeasures.
• Provide ad hoc security advice and support to the wider Boeing UK business.
• Develop business-focused security policies, procedures, and processes.
• Conduct risk, physical, and information security assessments, including for new sites.
• Support new infrastructure tasks, including drafting statements of work and compiling operational requirements for security systems.
• Contribute to business and emergency preparedness plans, and support country crisis coordination activities.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of security learning materials.
• Support activities involving significant BDUK presence, such as air shows and conferences.
• Represent Boeing at government and industry forums.
• Maintain currency with all Boeing and host nation safety/security policies and procedures.
• Support security aspects of trade and export controls (desirable).
• Liaise with national law enforcement and security agencies (desirable).

Qualifications and Experience

• Highly developed oral and written communication skills; ability to brief and convince senior management is key.
• Proficiency with common Microsoft Office applications (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
• Experience of Security Audit/Compliance in accordance with ISO or other recognisable standards (preferred).
• A multi-disciplinary security, law enforcement, intelligence, or corporate security background, likely at a senior supervisory or management level (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to operate at high tempo with minimum supervision across diverse security areas (preferred).
• Degree/post-graduate qualification (preferable but not essential).
• Recent UK Defence Security experience, particularly cyber/information security, and/or related qualifications (viewed favourably).
• Recent working knowledge of airfield environments and relevant regulatory/legislative drivers (preferred).
• Practical interview, statement taking, and report writing skills (preferred).

Additional Information

• This is a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.

• This position is customer site-based with limited travel (up to 10%) within the UK.
• Position requires the ability to obtain a UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
