About the Role
Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd., as part of the OMNIA Training consortium, is seeking a dedicated Safety & Environmental Engineer to join their team in Warminster. This role is crucial for ensuring that new equipment and capabilities introduced into the British Army's training system are 'Safe by Design', adhering strictly to the ACTS Safety & Environmental policy. You will be instrumental in compiling Safety Cases, ensuring risks are managed to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP), and contributing to the transformation of the British Army's training system.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals with a strong mission focus and the drive to excel. You will be part of a collaborative environment, working with innovative defence training organisations and the British Army. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in compiling and delivering Safety Case Reports and other essential safety documentation (e.g., plans, processes, requirements).
- In-depth knowledge of common safety standards and environmental regulations, including DEFSTAN 00-056 and 07-085, Defence Safety Authority (DSA) – Defence Land Safety and Environmental Regulations, DSA 01 and DSA 02 Defence Ordnance Munitions Explosives (DOME), JSP 375 and 815, and ACSO 1200.
- The ability to interpret complex technical data and produce clear, logical, and robust safety arguments.
- Proven experience in leading Safety Working Groups, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and facilitating risk assessments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a self-motivated attitude and a desire to learn new technologies.
