A220 Control Laws Product Leader

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is seeking a proactive and experienced individual to join our Aircraft Controls team as the A220 Control Laws Product Leader (f/m). This role, based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Flight Control Laws teams in both Mirabel and Toulouse, contributing to the development and certification of the A220's flight control systems.

You will be an integral part of the Flight Characteristics team, fostering a collaborative and autonomous environment where mutual support and collective learning are paramount. As the primary point of contact for new development of A220 manual and automatic Flight Control Laws, your responsibilities will encompass coordinating, supporting, and monitoring all related development activities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, support, and monitor activities to ensure manual and automatic control laws deliverables meet agreed program requirements in terms of Time, Cost, Quality, and Maturity.
  • Ensure close coordination with other interacting teams to achieve consolidated planning.
  • Support budget definition and ensure strict adherence to it.
  • Represent the team in project reviews.
  • Be responsible for the planning and workload of subcontractors.
  • Lead the process to identify, manage, and escalate changes, risks, and opportunities associated with control laws deliverables.
  • Consolidate risks and opportunities (R&O) and lead the Centre of Competence (CoC) R&O reviews.
  • Manage technical system interfaces within the A220 new development control laws perimeter.
  • Support the definition of processes, methods, and tools to be used, and define the Mirabel team's onboarding plan, ensuring adherence. Identify additional tools as needed.

Your Profile:

  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Aeronautical Engineering; a background in Flight Control Laws is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Aerospace industry, with at least 5 years in control laws development, including a solid understanding of aircraft-level interdependencies.
  • Proven experience in Project Management, covering plans, schedules, routebooks, stakeholder management, managing interdependencies, identifying risks, and developing mitigation plans.
  • A deep technical understanding of flight control laws, enabling effective coordination of complex activities, anticipation of dependencies, and ensuring specialists have timely inputs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for efficient collaboration within a cross-functional team and effective interfacing with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative to achieve objectives.
  • Flexibility and adaptability within a dynamic work environment.

Occasional travel to France is required.
