About the Role
This role sits within the Naval Ships Future Business and Technology (FB&T) team, focusing on the early stages of the design lifecycle. You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new technologies that will shape future products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilise theoretical engineering knowledge and practical experience to develop technologies for future products, services, specifications, designs, and developments.
- Resolve a range of engineering issues and problems.
- Compile technical reports and accompanying presentations to present technologies as mature solutions for selection in future ship designs.
- Design and develop solutions for assigned products, resolving technical issues with supervision.
- Develop qualification requirements for the onboarding of new technology.
- Support peer reviews and verification activities.
- Conduct qualification testing for new technologies.
About You
You will possess a depth and breadth of engineering knowledge and experience, ideally within a Naval Ship or similar technology business. An assessing mindset is crucial, enabling you to model, understand, quantify, and characterise problems, applying creativity to generate innovative solutions.
