// Role Specification
Boeing is seeking highly motivated individuals for a three-month summer internship in 2027. Join our Global Technology team at the Boeing Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC) in Prestwick, Scotland, and contribute to cutting-edge technology development in areas such as robotics, automation, composite fabrication, and digital engineering.
Our 60-person team operates from a 100,000 sq ft state-of-the-art research facility, developing advanced manufacturing technologies for the next generation of aircraft. As a Research and Technology (R&T) intern, you will be assigned a real-life industrial challenge to solve, working individually or as part of a small team with the support of our experienced R&T professionals.
Position Responsibilities:
The internship involves a blend of office-based planning and workshop-based development to deliver an innovative and cost-effective solution. Key tasks include:
- Understanding and defining project requirements.
- Budget and schedule planning.
- Researching and evaluating potential solutions.
- Designing, developing, and validating solutions through prototypes and testing.
- Building relationships with stakeholders and team members.
- Reporting progress to stakeholders and senior management.
Skills:
- Confident and clear communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage your own time and workload effectively.
- A keen interest in aerospace manufacturing processes and digital technologies.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have the right to work in the UK. Boeing does not sponsor employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently studying towards a BEng/MEng in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Important Information:
This position is for a locally hired role in the UK. Candidates must possess current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not provide immigration or labour sponsorship. Benefits and pay are determined locally.
Relocation assistance is not provided; candidates must reside in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
