About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Rheinmetall Electronics UK, located in Bristol, you will be instrumental in the OMNIA Training consortium's mission to transform the British Army's training system. You will be at the forefront of delivering advanced training solutions, ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the project and product lifecycle.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001.
- Take ownership of resolving all quality-related matters, including conducting root cause analysis using recognised tools like 8D and 5 Whys.
- Collaborate closely with delivery teams to integrate quality considerations into project planning and execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the prime contractor on all quality-related issues.
- Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the quality system and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support goods inward inspection procedures and establish control processes defining required inspection levels.
- Prepare equipment for release and complete Certificates of Conformity.
- Perform internal and external quality assurance audits.
- Develop and report against key quality metrics.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in quality assurance, ideally within the defence sector.
- A detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with regulatory frameworks like AS9100, ISO9001, and quality tools such as 8D.
- Familiarity with New Product Implementation (NPI) processes.
- A collaborative working style with the ability to mentor others in quality processes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of defence quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
