About the Role
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Purchasing Manager (M/F/D, Buyer) for Primary Flight Controls to join our Equipment Systems A-F Team based in Toulouse, France. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the suppliers landscape by working with major aerospace equipment & systems suppliers, developing & implementing new business models and achieving key commercial negotiations so as to bring Airbus customers the most innovative and competitive Products and Services.
The position of Purchasing Manager (Buyer) within the Flight Controls and Hydraulics Systems MFT offers you an opportunity to apply and develop your procurement & leadership skills in a motivating, challenging, innovative and creative technical context. You will collaborate with suppliers based all over the world and be responsible for alignment with internal stakeholders (Programs, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&T Community, Legal, finance and Customer Services), looking at the big picture for your perimeter. You will join a team in charge of Primary Flight Controls and Cockpit Controls, critical systems at the heart of the aircraft operations, for the negotiation and management of contracts within Equipment & Systems Procurement.
Your Challenges
- Define, Negotiate and Manage Contracts throughout the full life cycle of the products, ensuring compliance.
- Lead the commercial negotiations (including potential Calls for Tenders) throughout the full life cycle of the products.
- Develop E2E business solutions directly influencing Airbus cost, revenues (Aftermarket) & EBIT contribution.
- Take a leading role in the collaboration with suppliers worldwide, developing professional and trusting relationships and upholding Company ethics and compliance standards.
- Be part of a multi-functional team, responsible for alignment with Program, Supply Chain, Engineering and Customer Services.
- Contribute to shaping and defining Airbus future programs and technology by supporting specific development projects and leading commercial aspects.
- Act as the lead buyer for a key supplier, reporting to the head of PEA.
Your Boarding Pass
- Strong Project management skills, including stakeholder management, are essential.
- A solid understanding of Contracts and legal frameworks, and experience in negotiations and supplier relationship management is beneficial.
- A background in procurement or equivalent experience managing external stakeholders is considered a plus.
- High level of autonomy coupled with a team-player attitude.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a general business mind-set.
- Ability to comfortably lead a commodity level Multi-Functional Team.
- International communication skills, including persuasion & influencing skills, and the ability to present complex topics to senior leadership.
- Negotiation level of English is essential. Other languages are a bonus.
- Good technical basics of aircraft systems would be an asset.
