About the Filton Security Team

The Filton Security Team is an enthusiastic, forward-thinking group focused on enabling future projects and manufacturing. We are dedicated to providing expert security solutions that support Filton's operational and delivery objectives. Our responsibilities include ensuring the safety and security of our site, personnel, and visitors, as well as managing Fire Safety and Emergency Planning.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will collaborate with various internal teams to ensure the effective delivery of operational security. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and contributing to the implementation of protective security activities, ensuring compliance with established policies.
• Jointly managing Security Service Providers to optimise performance and proactive oversight.
• Collaborating in the management of security risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and continuous improvements.
• Serving as the first point of escalation for any security systems issues or faults.
• Leading and supporting the implementation of Emergency Response protocols.
• Providing strategic security input into event and project planning, integrating risk assessments and security measures.
• Coordinating and managing security arrangements for events and temporary deployments.
• Ensuring service providers adhere to Airbus internal standards and contractual KPIs.
• Ensuring adherence to Filton Safety rules and embedding security considerations into operational processes.
• Conducting audits and overseeing the compliance of security suppliers.
• Leveraging expertise to drive continuous improvement of security processes and procedures.
• Working within a multifunctional team, supporting all functions based on operational and business priorities.
• Driving operational priorities through MfT/drumbeat meetings.
• Managing the performance of security practices and service provider operations.
• Generating and presenting reports to support functional goals and decision-making.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with plant managers and business leaders.
• Leading investigations into theft, fraud allegations, near misses, and road traffic incidents.
• Deputising in high-level meetings in the absence of senior security management.

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Level 5 qualification in Security Management or equivalent professional experience.
• A proven background in security management within large operational environments, with extensive experience in commercial or industrial sectors.
• Demonstrable expertise in applying Security Risk Management principles.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to achieve government Security Clearance (SC) and successfully complete a BPSS+.

Desirable Skills

The following skills are also desirable:

• Experience with Security Systems, including proficiency in G-Suite.
• Previous experience in managing security contractors.
• Ability to travel at short notice and responsiveness to operational needs.
