Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop task breakdown structures and detailed schedules based on customer requirements, production processes, and identified work dependencies.
- Identify all required materials, subcontractors, and specialist services, meticulously reviewing supplier quotations to ensure accurate scope and cost coverage.
- Estimate labour hours and resource requirements, utilizing production standards, parametric methods, and your technical expertise.
- Conduct essential pre-production planning checks, manage workflow progression through planning boards, and proactively resolve any planning issues that may impact delivery timelines.
- Maintain and continuously improve planning data, cost estimates, and standard job libraries by creating and updating task lists and parts information.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of ship repair production processes, methods, safety practices, and product safety assurance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements, with the capability to resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and ERP systems for effective planning and production management.
- Effective teamwork skills, including the ability to support colleagues, monitor progress, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- In-depth understanding of production planning, resource estimation, and operational delivery within a ship repair environment.
