About the Role

Rolls-Royce is looking to fill 6 positions within the Overhaul & Maintenance Methods (OMM) skill group, supporting the UK&I Defence Mature Programmes portfolio. As a Process Engineer, you will define, validate, and support the implementation of maintenance policies and procedures at the product level. This includes developing build and strip methods and identifying associated special-to-type tooling. The roles support the creation, sustainment, and development of maintenance methods for UK Defence Customers, focusing on Technical Documentation, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), and Ground Support Equipment – Tooling.

Engineers in this team are responsible for defining safe, reliable, and cost-effective methods for the maintenance and overhaul of our products. This involves ensuring that support solutions, including technical instructions and tooling, are stable, repeatable, and integrate seamlessly with the product maintenance and overhaul network. You will provide technical support to ensure processes are adhered to and feasible alternatives are approved and implemented, while also influencing engine design for better supportability. This is a highly challenging, varied, and interesting role with a strong customer and engineering focus.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and validate maintenance concepts, methods, and tools to enhance assembly maintainability and support Engine MRO operations.
  • Provide technical support to ensure efficient, rate-ready, and production-friendly maintenance methods.
  • Manage the design and manufacturing of Ground Support Equipment within the supply chain.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in Engine MRO while continuously improving processes and tools.
  • Ensure technical compliance with regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements, and develop maintenance policies through technical publications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Manufacturing Engineering, MRO Bases, Service Operations, and Design teams to improve technical solutions and support Part 145 MRO operations.
  • Lead and support Product Safety through the development of high-quality methods, tooling, and facility sustainment.

What We Offer

We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits including bonus, employee support assistance, and employee discounts. Hybrid working is available, balancing time between the office and home/remote locations, with an expectation of attending the workplace approximately three days per week for collaboration and specific reasons.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM subject and/or relevant engineering experience (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, or Controls).
  • Ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to technical problems and make balanced decisions.
  • Knowledge of product design methodology, materials, repair, lifecycle engineering, manufacturing engineering, and special processes, with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with technical publications such as maintenance manuals and illustrated parts catalogues. Competency in XML/SGML or technical publication editing tools is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of the Defence Mature engines portfolio, its systems, and components.

Security Requirements: To work for Rolls-Royce, you must hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats and possess UK nationality. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently have it.
