About the Role
As a Principal Waste Consultant at Cavendish Nuclear's Warrington site, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of nuclear materials and waste management. This role demands a blend of technical acumen, consultancy leadership, business development prowess, and effective project delivery, supporting crucial defence and civil nuclear clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and technical consultancy projects focused on spent fuels management, nuclear materials management, and comprehensive waste management programmes.
- Cultivate and nurture strong client relationships to pinpoint emerging opportunities, understand client priorities, and foster long-term business growth.
- Spearhead business development initiatives, encompassing opportunity identification, pipeline management, and successful bid strategies.
- Prepare and meticulously review technical reports, proposals, presentations, and bid documentation essential for project execution and contract acquisition.
- Provide technical leadership across diverse project teams, alongside mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
Role Details
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Warrington, Cheshire, with a standard 37-hour work week (Monday to Friday). Hybrid working arrangements are available. Occasional travel to customer and Cavendish Nuclear sites is anticipated, typically once per month.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in delivering and leading technical projects within spent fuels management, nuclear materials management, or closely related nuclear disciplines.
- Significant experience working with clients in the United Kingdom's civil or defence nuclear industry.
- Proven success in a consultancy or client-facing role, including defining scopes of work, preparing proposals, and participating in bidding and tendering processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and secure new business opportunities.
- Experience leading technical teams, supporting project delivery, and mentoring professionals.
- A Bachelor Honours Degree, or equivalent, in a Science or Engineering discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
