PLM Server Engineer
BAE Systems is seeking a skilled PLM Server Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, and ongoing evolution of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment. Working closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors, you will help shape and enhance application architecture while ensuring the reliable operation of large-scale, multi-tier enterprise systems.
Core Duties:
- Installation, configuration, and support of application servers for hosting large-scale multi-tier applications.
- Configuration of interfaces between component parts of the application.
- Support to testing activities, defect resolution, and patch updates.
- Application deployment and support into development, testing, and production environments.
- Working with vendors to support the creation and evolution of the application architecture.
- Support, enhance, and develop the documentation knowledge base.
- Provide information and feedback to internal or external customers in a timely, accurate, and appropriate manner, ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience of working in an application installation or support role in either a Windows or Unix/Linux environment.
- Experience in IT application infrastructure and hosting.
- Experience with installation and configuration of application servers (e.g. Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat).
- Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter is ideal but not essential.
You will be working as part of the Engineering Future Capability team, which consists of 5 professional engineers, supporting and implementing existing and future capability for engineering programmes across the air sector. The work within the team is very varied and involves constantly evolving workstreams.
