Job Description

The PLM Application Engineer will support, maintain, and enhance Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) application environments across our global business operations. You will work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to develop and evolve application infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient system performance.

Key responsibilities include installing and configuring applications on client devices using various deployment methods, managing application packaging and certification for global software catalogues, and supporting deployments across development, test, and production environments.

You will develop and maintain application configurations that improve business processes and enhance the end-user experience. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of technical documentation and knowledge base materials, support testing activities, and provide timely, accurate communication to internal and external customers.

The role also involves diagnosing and resolving application defects, implementing patch updates, and ensuring applications remain secure, stable, and fit for purpose, all while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Core Duties:

• Collaborate with vendors to support the creation and evolution of application environments and infrastructure.
• Install and configure applications on client devices using various deployment methods.
• Support, enhance, and develop the documentation knowledge base.
• Develop application configurations to improve processes and end-user experience.
• Manage packaging and certification processes for applications into global catalogues.
• Provide support to testing activities.
• Deploy and support client applications into development, testing, and production environments.
• Provide timely, accurate, and appropriate information and feedback to internal or external customers.
• Resolve defects and implement patch updates.

Your Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in an application installation or support role within a Windows or Unix/Linux environment.
• Experience with installation and configuration of enterprise applications.
• Scripting experience with Windows PowerShell, DOS, UNIX, Perl, Javascript, SQL scripting.
• Knowledge of software configuration management, specifically GIT.
• Customer service and stakeholder management experience within an IT environment.
• Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter is ideal but not essential.

The Engineering Future Capability Team:

You will be part of the Engineering Future Capability team, consisting of 5 professional engineers, supporting and implementing existing and future capabilities for engineering programmes across the air sector. The team's work is varied and involves constantly evolving workstreams, including collaborations with major programmes to enhance the toolset, increase development and release cadence, and grow the product set sector-wide.
