About the Role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a National Security Program Leader (f/m) to join our Corporate Security Department in Marignane, France. This role is crucial for shaping the security strategy of our military programs, ensuring the protection of infrastructures, assets, and information systems in full compliance with defense regulations.

Your Challenges

You will be responsible for the coordination, coherence, and optimization of security requirements across various domains, including physical infrastructures, sensitive areas, industrial assets, and information systems, ensuring strict adherence to national and international defense regulations. You will act as a central pivot, identifying security needs upstream, supporting requirement specification, and prioritizing in the best interest of Airbus Helicopters. While you will not directly manage operational implementation, you will guide and support dedicated teams to ensure accurate execution of security measures. Your ultimate goal is to guarantee that all military contracts are executed securely and compliantly, optimizing associated costs and resources.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Program Security Governance: Prioritize and harmonize security actions for military programs, ensuring security requirements for buildings, technical means, and IT systems are defined and met.
  • Contractual Compliance & Oversight: Analyze Defense contracts, Program Security Instructions (PSI), Plan d'Assurance de la Sécurité de l'Information (PASI), and Security Annexes to anticipate and specify security requirements for operational teams.
  • Network Leadership: Coordinate the network of Program Security Officers (PSOs), Site Security Officers, and National Security Officers to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Budgetary Management: Define, justify, and manage the national security budget allocated to military programs and projects.
  • International Regulatory Watch: Ensure strict adherence to French Defense regulations (IGI 1300, IM900, II901, CAC Armement) and the specific regulations of international partners.
  • Reporting to Top Management: Provide full visibility and transverse reporting on the compliance status and progress of ongoing actions.
  • Strategic Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for state clients regarding program security audits and compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Defense Regulations: Absolute mastery of French Defense security regulations. Knowledge of German, Spanish, EU, NATO, and OCCAR defense security frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to steer complex projects from scoping to delivery, ensuring milestones are met through rigorous planning and stakeholder coordination.
  • Financial & Budgetary Oversight: Expertise in managing project P&L, including budget forecasting, cost-tracking, and resource optimization.
  • Operational Agility: Skilled in navigating shifting priorities while maintaining focus on quality, timelines, and financial constraints.
  • Contractual Expertise: Deep understanding of defense procurement markets and associated documentation (Security Clauses, PSIs, Security Annexes).
  • Classified Assets Management: Expert knowledge in handling and circulating physical and digital classified information and material.
  • International Frameworks: Proficiency in NATO, OCCAR, and EU Military regulations regarding the treatment of marked materials and information.
  • Stakeholders Management: Proven experience in negotiation, influence, and managing difficult stakeholders.

Expected Qualifications

  • Ability to work and interact with high-level state representatives and international military organizations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive results in a matrix organization.
  • Experience in project management for defense programs (PM certification).

Highly Appreciated Background

  • Professional background within the DGA (Direction Générale de l’Armement) or the DRSD (Direction du Renseignement et de la Sécurité de la Défense).
  • Experience in contract management of complex military programs.
  • Experience as a Security Officer (Officier de Sécurité) within a company manufacturing military products under a Facility Security Clearance, with experience extending beyond site guarding to managing complex military programs.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English and French is mandatory. Proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.
