Role Overview:

The MEP Project Manager will lead the planning and delivery of ship modification, upgrade, and repair activities across international maritime programmes. You will coordinate stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed scope, schedule, and performance objectives. This role acts as the key link between UK programme teams and in-country delivery personnel, collaborating closely with shipyards, OEMs, naval stakeholders, and engineering teams. Support annual modification periods through travel to the Middle East and engagement within operational environments.

Core Duties:

• Leading end-to-end delivery of ship repair, modification, and upgrade tasks, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
• Coordinating with on-site teams, subcontractors, and engineering teams both in country and back in the UK to maintain clear communication and operational alignment.
• Effective management of internal and external stakeholders; interfacing and collaborating with BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.
• Defining, planning, and controlling work packages, including resource allocation, progress tracking, and performance reporting.
• Identifying emerging risks, developing mitigation plans, and ensuring appropriate escalation.
• Providing on-site leadership to deployed teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience within a Business Delivery role (preferably ship repair, maritime upgrades, or naval platform modifications).
• Ability to operate in a deployed environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across multicultural teams.
• Ability to collaborate closely with shipyard teams both within the UK and Middle East, OEMs, wider naval stakeholders, and engineering staff.
• Experience managing maritime projects within the GCC/KSA is advantageous.
• Recognised project management qualifications and the ability to interpret engineering documentation, technical drawings, and maintenance specifications is advantageous.

Location & Working Arrangements:

Portsmouth Broad Oak – 2-3 days a week on site (when not deployed abroad) or as required. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about options for this role.
