About the Role
Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a motivated Mission & Armament Commodity Manager (d/f/m) to join our team in Manching, Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to shape procurement strategies and manage key supplier relationships within the defence sector.
Your Location

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commodity strategies to ensure short- and long-term competitiveness and consistency in procurement measures.
- Establish the supplier landscape for Combat Collaborative Aircrafts and lead national eyes only projects from a procurement perspective.
- Manage the entire sourcing process (tenders, RFP, etc.) and contract management.
- Independently negotiate new contracts with strategic suppliers in an agile project environment, ensuring alignment with project requirements and Airbus processes.
- Conduct market analyses, including Global Sourcing and offset considerations.
- Build and maintain long-term, strong relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure effective risk management, particularly during ramp-up phases.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in managing and supporting complex projects within procurement.
- University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Business Administration, Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Profound experience in supplier management/development and negotiating complex contracts.
- In-depth practical knowledge of the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, contract drafting, and negotiation.
- Experience in the functional leadership of Sub-Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs) within procurement or similar demanding project structures.
- Negotiation-level proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken).
- Strong ability for targeted communication and moderation across various hierarchical levels.
- Willingness to work in a fast-moving project environment and to find pragmatic, solution-oriented approaches aligned with established procurement processes.
