An opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist - MRTT Conversions & Retrofit has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the NNDD Development Management Team, which is responsible for managing aircraft configuration, industrialization, and conversion processes for MRTT platforms and Retrofit aircraft, ensuring smooth integration between design engineering, FAL, and manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and maintain the Removals and Reinstallations (R/I) baseline for all MRTT versions and Retrofit aircraft, maximizing commonalities and mapping kit tracking tools across the conversion flow.
- Assess and adapt GAC modification statuses (TLS FAL / Service Bulletins) to anticipate physical clashes between original aircraft configurations and MRTT conversion designs.
- Collaborate with NNDD Development Managers to perform, review, and approve Removal/Reinstallation industrialization (OTOQOC).
- Manage aircraft configuration alongside the Industrial Manager to coordinate Pre-MRTT conversions at Pre-FAL premises or during conversion.
- Participate in the development and review of Service Bulletins (especially for Cabin Layouts) to guarantee alignment with final aircraft configuration inputs.
- Document and standardize G/A dossiers (Pre/Post status) and define comprehensive analysis procedures updated to new requirements.
SKILLS
Education: Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline.
Experience: Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Aircraft Conversions, Retrofit, or Configuration Management within military/commercial platforms (MRTT/GAC).
Soft skills: Strong collaborative mindset, cross-functional communication, proactive problem-solving, and adaptability in complex industrial environments.
Languages: Advanced level in English. Spanish is highly valued.
Technical knowledge: Knowledge of MRTT/A330 structures and cabin layouts, Service Bulletins (SB), aircraft modification tracking tools, and industrialization processes (OTOQOC).
Valuable / Nice to have: Direct experience in Pre-FAL/FAL operations, Retrofit programs, or design office interaction.
