The Role
Within the IRST Products & New Developments organizational unit of the Electronics Business Area, we are seeking System Engineers for IRST (Infra-red Search and Track) Sensors for our Nerviano (MI) location.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Engineering to support the modeling and development of data processing algorithms.
- System Engineering to support the integration, testing, and validation of apparatus.
- Analysis and modeling of IRST Sensors, definition of system and sub-system requirements.
- Definition of apparatus architecture, use cases, and testing on simulated and/or real scenarios.
- Supervision of integration, fine-tuning, and testing activities, support in drafting procedures, and quality control equipment.
Qualifications:
- Technical Industrial Diploma or equivalent higher qualification.
- Degree in STEM/Engineering disciplines.
Experience Levels:
- Junior: 1-3 years of experience
- Expert: 3-5 years of experience
- Senior: 5-10 years of experience
- Master: 10+ years of experience
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Experience using MATLAB, particularly Simulink and System Composer.
- Experience in Signal Processing, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Target Tracking.
- Basic knowledge of MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) and Digital Twin.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic experience.
- Past experience in programs on avionics sensors and equipment.
- Work experience on IRST Systems.
- Experience using DOORS for requirements traceability.
- Experience in preparing program documentation.
- Experience participating in internal project reviews and/or external client reviews.

Language and IT Skills:

Work Arrangement and Travel:
The ideal candidate is available to work primarily on-site and undertake short/medium duration business trips, in Italy and/or abroad, after adequate on-the-job training.
