The Role: Instrumenting Service Deputy

As the Instrumenting Service Deputy, you will play a key part in supporting multidisciplinary teams responsible for instrumenting live training. Your primary focus will be on gathering data for analysis and exploitation, managing team readiness, and ensuring consistent delivery across diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate instrumentation planning and support activities with Scheduling, Controlling, and Composing Services.
  • Collaborate with other OMNIA services to ensure correct instrumentation of training and appropriate data capture.
  • Ensure that resources are available to deliver Live training, initially through incumbent TES contracts and later via OMNIA Training resources.
  • Confirm that GFX training instrumentation provision is adequate to meet the training demand schedule.
  • Support the continuous improvement of collective training and related instrumentation capabilities for data-driven training environments.
  • Work closely with other services to ensure effective delivery of Live training, utilising appropriate staff.
  • Integrate technical systems, logistics, and data collection processes to provide accurate, secure, and timely information to other CTTP services.
  • Liaise with Observing & Reviewing, Analysis and Design services to understand the demand for instrumentation equipment.
  • Ensure Instrumentation resources are available where and when needed, in coordination with the Logistics Service.
  • Support the evolution of instrumentation architecture, including GTES horizontal services and integration with cloud-based ACTS Platforms.
  • Liaise with OEMs and current TES providers as required.
  • Conduct other Instrumentation Service-related activities as directed by the Instrumentation Service Lead.
  • Act as deputy for the Instrumenting Service Lead when necessary.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in military training.
  • Leadership experience within armed forces or defence organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and coordinate large-scale training deployments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of tactical instrumentation systems (TES/GTES), sensor networks, and LVC integration.
  • Proficiency in training management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Eligible for and willing to obtain relevant security clearances.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience leading joint force or multinational training initiatives.
  • Professional certifications in leadership or instruction.
  • Adaptable mindset with a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
