Head of OneSat Programme Ground Segment

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Head of OneSat Programme Ground Segment to join our team in Toulouse, France. The OneSat programme is revolutionising the telecoms satellite market with fully reconfigurable satellites that can adapt coverage, capacity, and frequency in orbit, supported by a cybersecure ground segment.

Mission:

As a key member of the OneSat Programme leadership team, you will be accountable for the OneSat Ground Segment (Product & Projects). Your mission is to ensure the On-Time, On-Quality, On-Cost (OTOQOC) delivery of validated Ground Segments, adhering to customer requirements and the OneSat Business Case. This significant project involves high-level international customer management and extensive cross-functional collaboration.

Main Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate internal teams and external partners, driving transformation and operational improvements.
• Project Governance: Manage all aspects of project requirements, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), risk and opportunity management, schedule analysis, and export control.
• Lifecycle Management: Oversee the development and validation for over 7 OneSat projects and flexible payload projects, enforcing strict baseline change management.
• Strategic Communication: Ensure alignment of all stakeholders with the OneSat "Baseline Plan" for end-to-end readiness and seamless delivery.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor operational and financial performance, developing proactive recovery plans for any identified gaps.
• Executive Reporting: Deliver high-quality, transparent status reports to internal and external stakeholders, including Excom, Customers, Partners, and Airbus Group.
• Process Industrialization: Implement disruptive changes to streamline and industrialize processes, enabling parallel development and delivery for a growing global customer base.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is an experienced Programme Manager with a proven history of leading complex projects, preferably in Telecommunications Ground Segments. A minimum Airbus PM certification at Silver level is required. You are a strategic thinker capable of managing large, innovative projects with a strong focus on OTOQOC delivery. You can effectively manage large-scale technical requirements while building strong customer relationships and understanding their satellite operations. Excellent team leadership and communication skills are essential. Fluency in English is mandatory.
