Head of Marketing and Communications

Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd. is seeking a Head of Marketing and Communications to oversee the Marketing function and manage all internal and external Communications. The role ensures REUK effectively promotes its products and capabilities to existing and new customers, guided by the REUK Operational Marketing strategy.

This position is ideal for someone familiar with high-technology product sales in the military, defence, and homeland security markets, though deep technical knowledge of the defence industry is not essential, it would be an advantage.

The Head of Marketing and Communications will serve as the primary departmental contact within REUK’s division, business unit, and corporate communications organisation, requiring regular interaction with departments and companies across the Rheinmetall Group. The role is primarily based at REUK’s offices in Newport, Isle of Wight, with occasional work in Southampton offices. REUK also operates a flexible working policy, including options for home working after training completion.

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week), with the flexibility to finish early on Fridays. Occasional UK and international travel may be required for events and marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and implementing the yearly operational marketing strategy in conjunction with the Business Development, Sales and Strategy Director.
  • Managing the external presence of the company, including the REUK presence on the Rheinmetall website, and company presence at exhibitions.
  • Creating press releases, advertising, and developing white papers, video material, brochures, and datasheets.
  • Coordinating social media content and managing the conference and exhibitions schedule.
  • Overseeing internal communications, including articles for Rheinmetall apps, and product photography.
  • Managing the Marketing budget, providing input to the annual budget review, and reporting on spend.
  • Providing market input into the annual business plan and ensuring company quality procedures are observed.
  • Line managing the Marketing Assistant, including personal development and delivering appraisal reporting.
  • Presenting the company to prospective customers when required.
  • Adhering to corporate guidelines and policies regarding marketing and communications.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in Marketing and Communications in a similar outward-facing role.
  • Experienced copywriter, fluent English speaker with excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using standard computer packages (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and various communication methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently handle internal and external enquiries.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A desire for continuous improvement and learning.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of military, defence, and homeland security markets.
  • High familiarity with the needs and drivers of an ISO9000-accredited defence manufacturing company.
  • Experience and qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business Management, or similar fields.
