Head of Marketing and Communications
Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd. in Newport, Isle of Wight is looking for a Head of Marketing and Communications to oversee the Marketing function and manage all internal and external Communications. This role is responsible for ensuring REUK effectively promotes its products and capabilities to existing and new customers, as defined by the REUK Operational Marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with high-technology product sales in the military, defence, and homeland security markets. While deep technical knowledge of defence electronics is not required, it would be advantageous. The role holder will be the main departmental point of contact within REUK's division, business unit, and corporate communications organisation, requiring regular communication across the Rheinmetall Group.
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) located primarily at REUK's offices in Newport, Isle of Wight, with occasional work in Southampton. Flexible working, including home working after training, is supported. Employees can benefit from an early finish on Fridays. Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be necessary.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and implementing the yearly operational marketing strategy.
- Managing the company's external presence, including website, exhibitions, press releases, advertising, white papers, video material, social media, brochures, and datasheets.
- Overseeing the purchase of promotional items and company-branded clothing.
- Budget management and providing budgetary input for annual reviews.
- Overseeing internal communications and coordinating product photography.
- Managing the conference and exhibitions schedule.
- Presenting the company to prospective customers.
- Providing market input into the annual business plan.
- Ensuring compliance with company quality procedures, corporate guidelines, and policies.
- Generating schedules and plans in line with the company's strategic plan.
- Line management (including personal development) of the Marketing Assistant.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in Marketing and Communications in a similar outward-facing role.
- Experienced copywriter with fluent English.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience with various communication methods (email, chat, phone).
- Proficiency in standard computer packages (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
- Leadership skills to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A desire for continuous improvement and learning.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of military, defence, and homeland security markets.
- Familiarity with the needs of an ISO9000-accredited defence manufacturing company.
- Marketing, Communications, Business Management, or similar qualifications.
