Field Support Representative (Training Systems)

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) is a leading UK defence engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, and support of military vehicles. We are seeking a Field Support Representative to join our team at the Bovington site.

Position Overview

As a Field Support Representative (FSR), you will play a crucial role in the maintenance of the Challenger 3 Precision Gunnery Training Equipment and Terrier Mission Crew Trainers. We are looking for individuals with a hands-on approach, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. The FSR will report directly to the Field Support Manager and will be expected to travel significantly to various locations across the UK.

What You Will Do

  • Support day-to-day training equipment activities and foster user/customer relationships to provide cost-effective technical support.
  • Resolve technical queries from users and maintainers, and manage the processing of Line Replacement Units (LRUs).
  • Perform configuration control activities, providing build state information for equipment under contract.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Support the planning and implementation of retrofit, modification, and conversion programmes, including training staff where qualified.
  • Provide technical support for equipment failure diagnosis and LRU removal/replacement.
  • Perform or assist with planned and on-condition maintenance activities for CR2 & Terrier training equipment, potentially off-site.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and acceptance of RBSL products into service.
  • Identify training deficiencies, cost-saving measures, and improvements to enhance the Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) of RBSL products.

What Qualifications You Should Have

Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Formally qualified Electronic/electrical background.
  • The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams.
  • CR2 & Terrier platform expertise and competence with L1 & L2 maintenance tasks as a minimum.
  • UK MOD ‘SC’ security clearance is required. RBSL will sponsor the application if you do not currently hold SC. Candidates must declare any concerns regarding their ability to obtain security clearance.

Desirable/advantageous qualifications include:

  • Instructor/Teaching qualification.
  • MOD or Military (REME) experience.
  • Formally qualified electronic/electrical vehicle systems background.
  • Turret and Vehicle Hull & Sub system installations & fault-finding experience.
  • Tracked vehicle licence (H Licence).
  • IOSH working safely accreditation.
