Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for a Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer to join Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a brand-new team within the Military Derivatives department of Air Power.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and validate metallic parts in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT), as well as composite or hybrid structures.
- Write and check stress dossiers, justification reports, and test programs.
- Define justification approaches and ensure activity progress with Technical Authority support.
- Support manufacturing by assessing non-conformities on structural elements.
- Work closely with design engineers and communicate with internal/external stakeholders, experts, and civil or military authorities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT).
- Soft Skills: Autonomous approach, strong adaptability, open-mindedness, synthetic thinking, and good communication skills.
- Languages: Advanced level of English and Spanish (both written & spoken). French is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of Airbus calculation methods and tools, plus an understanding of digital tools and solutions.
- Security Clearance: Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is valuable.
