This role provides essential support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Engineer, focusing on the diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of infrastructure equipment, services, and associated production equipment within operational and engineering facilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform routine, reactive, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks on a wide range of infrastructure and production equipment to ensure safety, availability, and capability.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with plant systems including ventilation equipment, LTHW systems, Gas boilers, HP Compressors, and domestic water systems.
  • Utilize precision diagnostic instruments for maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze equipment data to inform maintenance strategies, identify opportunities, and recommend improvements for a world-class productive department.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data to support Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department.
  • Read and interpret P&ID's, circuit/logic diagrams, schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues.
  • Execute work programs and projects, including installation and system modifications.
  • Suggest improvements to work instructions and standard operating procedures to optimize maintenance strategy.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance through rigorous preventative controls and adherence to recommendations.
  • Coordinate preventive and planned corrective maintenance activities with Production Staff, maintaining regular communication with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Operators.
  • Support equipment OEM engineers and regulatory bodies/inspectors as required.
  • Consistently perform asset and equipment maintenance to ensure a high standard of safety and reliability.
  • Support the induction of new team members and cross-training initiatives.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and make sound recommendations based on judgment, training, and experience.
  • Process Work Orders and generate reports from the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Safely operate site-specific equipment with appropriate training.

Position Qualifications:

  • A time-served apprenticeship, at NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience and qualifications.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles and operation.
  • Basic IT literacy.
  • Understanding of local and regional HSE Standards and regulations.
